Ghanaian musician, Akoo Nana has called for the head of the Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), Rex Omar.

The ‘Amponsah’ composer stated that the organization must be shut down to allow new faces to be introduced.

Speaking to Berla Mundi in an interview on TV3’s New Day, the musician born William Ankrah said the ‘Abiba’ hitmaker must make way for others to handle the organization.

” GHAMRO must be shut down. Rex Omar must be sacked so they’ll bring one lady called Cynthia of Africa 1 fame. I think she should manage it.

Asked why Cythia Quarcoo, he explained: ” I think she’s got it. I respect Rex Omar and I think he’s a living legend but he has to make way. I think he doesn’t understand what he’s doing”

Rex Omar’s leadership as GHAMRO Chair has come under barrage of attacks by musicians who have expressed dissatisfaction over the disbursement of royalties.
